Whole Wheat Applesauce Pancakes
I have been making oatmeal pancakes for years. I finally decided to make a whole wheat pancake recipe because I always have whole wheat flour in my pantry. These pancakes are super fluffy, low in sugar and made with ingredients that you probably already have on hand. I added some nut butter and blueberries on top of my pancakes. You can add whatever toppings you desire!
Ingredients in Whole Wheat Applesauce Pancakes
- whole wheat flour
- baking powder
- cinnamon
- unsweetened applesauce
- honey
- egg
- unsweetened almond milk
- coconut oil (for greasing the pan)
How do you make whole wheat pancakes from scratch?
- Whisk together all the ingredients for the pancake batter.
- Heat a pan on medium and add coconut oil.
- Use a ¼ cup scoop and pour the batter onto the pan.
- Cook the pancakes for about 2-3 minutes per side. You may have to adjust the heat. If the pancakes aren’t cooking fast enough, increase the heat. If the pancakes are starting to brown too quickly, lower the heat.
- Serve with your favorite toppings!
