Ground Turkey Egg Roll in a Bowl

Ground Turkey Egg Roll in a Bowl

This Egg Roll in a Bowl Recipe is basically a healthy egg roll stir fry. If you love egg rolls, you will adore this tasty egg roll wrapper-free version. Someone on my Instagram requested this recipe. I had the idea written down in the notes section of my phone and finally got around to creating the recipe. I wish I made it sooner because it's seriously my new favorite dinner! By the way, if you ever have a recipe request, feel free to email or DM me. I record every recipe request!

Egg Roll in a Bowl

Ingredients to Make Egg Roll in a Bowl:

  • ground turkey
  • sesame oil
  • minced garlic cloves
  • sliced scallions
  • sliced mushrooms of choice
  • coleslaw mix
  • ground ginger
  • coconut aminos or low sodium soy sauce

How to Make Egg Rolls Without Wrappers?

  1. Cook ground turkey in ½ tbsp sesame oil on medium heat for about 4-5 minutes or until cooked through (stirring to break up clumps). Remove the cooked turkey from the pan and set it to the side in a bowl.
  2. Brown garlic in ½ tbsp sesame oil for about 1 minute on medium heat. Add in scallions, mushrooms, coleslaw mix and ground ginger and cook for 4 minutes on medium heat.
  3. Add cooked ground turkey back into the pan and cook for 1-2 minutes. Pour in the coconut aminos.
  4. Serve as is or over brown rice. I added some fresh scallion, sesame seeds and Sriracha over the top.

Krista, you inspired my dinner tonight! I didn't have mushrooms or scallions on hand, but whipped this together with the other ingredients. It was delicious and so satisfying 🙂

Love this recipe! It’s so simple and quick to make, I had it for lunch today and it was so tasty! I didn’t have turkey so I scrambled an egg for protein instead and served it over some Rightrice. Will definitely be making this again. Thanks for this easy meal idea Krista! ☺️

Swapped out the turkey with tofu and turned this dish vegan. Yummy and a great idea when you're crunched for time!

This was so easy and so delicious! Definitely reminded me of an egg roll. I didn’t have coleslaw but I had shredded carrots and a head of cabbage so I just used that which was perfect! I was going to read the comments before I made this but then saw that you made the recipe and knew it was going to be good because I already follow you on Instagram! Thanks again xo

Made this tonight, but didn't like the sesame oil in it, neither did my daughter. All the other ingredients were good together and it was very easy to make. I guess its just our tastes, but I will try it again omitting the sesame oil.
