This recipe for Oven Baked Chicken Tenders is super simple and much healthier than traditional chicken strips. There is very minimal oil in this recipe, but the chicken is still juicy and tender. You can make this recipe using your oven or an air fryer! I have provided directions for both options below.
Ingredients for this recipe
- fresh chicken breast tenders
- egg
- unsweetened almond milk
- almond flour
- unsweetened shredded coconut
- whole wheat breadcrumbs
- everything bagel seasoning
- paprika
- olive oil
How to Make Homemade Baked Chicken Tenders
- Dip chicken tenders into the egg mixture then the breading mixture.
- Place the breaded chicken tenders on a pan lined with parchment paper. Drizzle/spray the chicken with olive oil. (I love THIS olive oil spray bottle!)
- Bake in the oven at 425 degrees until golden.
- Serve the tenders with your favorite dipping sauce!
How long to cook chicken tenders in the air fryer?
If you would like to make this recipe using your air fryer, set your air fryer to 400 degrees. Cook the breaded chicken tenders for 12-17 minutes or until cooked through and crispy.

Oven Baked Chicken Tenders
Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh chicken breast tenders - (about 8 tenders)
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup unsweetened almond milk
- ½ cup almond flour
- ¼ cup unsweetened shredded coconut
- ¼ cup whole wheat breadcrumbs
- ½ tbsp everything bagel seasoning
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 tsp olive oil
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine egg and almond milk. In another mixing bowl, combine almond flour, shredded coconut, breadcrumbs, everything bagel seasoning and paprika.
- Dip chicken tenders (one at a time) into the egg mixture then the breading mixture. Place the breaded chicken tenders on a pan lined with parchment paper. Drizzle/spray olive oil evenly over the chicken.
- Bake in the oven at 425 degrees for 10 minutes. Flip the chicken and cook for another 10 minutes or until golden.
- Serve the tenders with your favorite dipping sauce!

i used the air fryer for this recipe and substituted regular bread crumbs because i could not find whole wheat. The chicken came out so tender and crispy from the shredded coconut.
