Healthy Whole Wheat Blueberry Muffins are made with whole wheat flour, almond flour, frozen blueberries, applesauce and honey. These muffins are an easy breakfast or snack.

This recipe is a must make for meal prep to have on hand for the week. Adults, kids and toddlers will all love these muffins. They are sweetened with honey and much lower in sugar than a traditional muffin. Also, they are very moist due to the mix of avocado oil and unsweetened applesauce. I used frozen blueberries in mine, but you could swap in another fresh or frozen berry of choice.

How to store homemade blueberry muffins
Store the muffins in an airtight container on the counter for 2-3 days. You can also store the muffins in the freezer for up to 3 months. Simply reheat the muffins in the microwave before enjoying.

Healthy Whole Wheat Blueberry Muffins
Ingredients
- 1 ¼ cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup almond flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- ¾ cup unsweetened applesauce
- ¼ cup avocado oil - Grab the avocado oil here! Use code “FROZENBANANAS” at checkout for a discount!
- ⅓ cup honey
- ½ cup frozen blueberries
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients until well incorporated.
- Line a muffin tin with 10 liners. Check out these silicone liners I adore! Use a large cookie scoop and scoop the batter into each muffin liner. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the muffins to cool, remove from the liners and enjoy!
