Gin Aperol Cocktail is an easy and refreshing citrus drink. All you need to make this cocktail is gin, Aperol, lemon, seltzer and ice!
I'm a big fan of the classic Gin and Tonic with lots of fresh lime. It's simple and bright. I'm also a big fan of an Aperol Spritz. This Aperol Gin Cocktail is the best of both!
Yes! Aperol goes wonderfully with gin especially if you use a London Dry gin like Bombay Sapphire.
Why you'll love Gin and Aperol Cocktail:
The perfect mix of flavors - The gin, lemon and Aperol work great together. I tried this drink using lime instead of lemon and I prefer lemon. It brings out the Aperol a bit more.
This cocktail isn't super sweet - The sugar only comes from whatever amount is in the Aperol. I did not add simple syrup, but add it if you like sweeter cocktails.
Batch make this cocktail - The recipe yields one serving, but you can easily double or triple the recipe for a crowd.
Ingredients overview:
- gin - I use Bombay Sapphire which is a London Dry gin.
- aperol - There is no substitute for this!
- lemon juice - Fresh is best. Don't use the bottled stuff!
- seltzer - To top the drink.
- ice - A small handful of ice is always a must for me when it comes to cocktails. My drink needs to be cold.
- Optional ingredient: simple syrup - You can add simple syrup for extra sweetness if you’d like, but I think it’s perfect as is. It will depend of your preference.

Yes, you can make a pitcher of this Gin and Aperol Cocktail. If you're hosting a get-together, go ahead and triple the recipe. On the recipe card, you will see an option to triple the recipe. The measurements will change for you automatically once you select "3x". This makes about 6 drinks.
If you're making this drink in advance, don't add the seltzer until serving or the drink will be watered down and flat.
