I love this recipe because it's made in a single saucepan. I know many of you use slow cookers to make chili. Please see instructions below.

Slow Cooker Instructions

  1. Pour avocado oil into a saucepan on medium heat.
  2. Add the onion and garlic. Allow the onion and garlic to cook for about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Place the ground turkey into the saucepan. Break up the meat into chunks while it's cooking. Add in all of the spices. Cook for about 5 minutes or until the meat is no longer pink.
  4. Lastly, add the diced potatoes and pour in the bone broth, crushed tomatoes and tomato puree.
  5. Transfer to your slow cooker and cook on low heat for about 6-7 hours or high heat for about 3-4 hours.

I made this recipe with using spices for GERD. Also using Roma tomato purée and crushed. I am happy with the results. I’m just happy to see that I can use my spices and get good results. GERD diet is very bland. I use garlic scape powder instead of garlic and green onion instead of regular onion. All the rest of the spices are ok for me. Sweet potatoes are in my realm for my diet. Never thought of using sweet potatoes instead of russet potatoes. I enjoyed making this recipe. Thank you!
