Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey (I recommend 93% lean)
  • 1 heaping cup diced sweet potato (½ inch cubes)
  • 2 tablespoons diced white onion
  • 1 minced garlic clove
  • ½ tablespoon avocado oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup bone broth (beef or chicken)
  • 2 cups canned crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup canned tomato puree

Instructions

  • Pour avocado oil into a saucepan on medium heat.
  • Add the onion and garlic. Allow the onion and garlic to cook for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Place the ground turkey into the saucepan. Break up the meat into chunks while it's cooking. Add in all of the spices. Cook for about 5 minutes or until the meat is no longer pink.
  • Lastly, add the diced potatoes and pour in the bone broth, crushed tomatoes and tomato puree.
  • Cover the saucepan with a lid and reduce the heat to low. Cook for about 40-50 minutes or until the potatoes are cooked through.
  • Serve with your favorite chili toppings!
