Cottage Cheese Toast is quick, nutritious and delicious! This post contains one savory toast recipe and one sweet.

What kind of cottage cheese should I use?

I highly recommend using whipped cottage cheese.

When cottage cheese is whipped, it has a similar texture to ricotta cheese.

You can buy whipped cottage cheese at the grocery store. I love THIS one.

Alternately, you can whip regular cottage cheese in a food processor for a few seconds.

If you don't want to be bothered, you can use regular cottage cheese.

Ingredients for sweet toast:

  • sourdough toast
  • whipped cottage cheese
  • fresh blueberries
  • fresh lemon zest
  • hemp seeds
  • pure honey
Ingredients in savory cottage cheese toast.

Ingredients for savory toast:

  • sourdough toast
  • whipped cottage cheese
  • cherry tomatoes
  • avocado
  • flaky sea salt and black pepper
  • balsamic glaze
  • extra virgin olive oil - good quality olive oil is key!
  • fresh chopped basil

Ingredients
  

Ingredients for sweet toast:

  • 1 slice sourdough toast
  • 3 tablespoons whipped cottage cheese or regular
  • ⅓ cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon hemp seeds
  • 1 drizzle pure honey

Ingredients for savory toast:

  • 1 slice sourdough toast
  • 3 tablespoons whipped cottage cheese or regular
  • 4 halved cherry tomatoes
  • ¼ sliced avocado
  • 1 pinch flaky sea salt and black pepper
  • 1 drizzle balsamic glaze
  • 1 drizzle extra virgin olive oil - good quality olive oil is key!
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chopped basil

Instructions
 

  • Toast a slice of sourdough.
  • Spread the cottage cheese evenly all over the piece of toast. I like using the back of a spoon for this.
  • Add all of your toppings of choice.
  • Enjoy right away. You cannot store this in the fridge for later. The toast will get soggy.

    So I made the savory one for breakfast for my husband and I. I didn’t tell him it was cottage cheese until after and he was shocked. He thought it was ricotta. I bought the whipped one like you suggested. Thanks Krista!!
