Almond Butter Granola Recipe

If you love almonds and almond butter as much as I do, this will be your new go-to granola recipe! Store-bought granola typically contains a lot of sugar. This homemade granola recipe is lightly sweetened with maple syrup. I used 3 tablespoons, if you like your granola sweeter, you can always add an extra tablespoon. Top your yogurt bowl or smoothie bowl with this granola or just grab a handful as a snack!

Ingredients used to make almond granola

  1. oats
  2. ground flaxseed
  3. sliced almonds
  4. maple syrup
  5. egg whites
  6. creamy almond butter

How to make healthy almond butter granola

  1. Place all ingredients into a mixing bowl. Ensure all is well-combined.

  2. Spread mixture onto a sheet pan with parchment paper and bake for 18-22 minutes in a 325 degree oven. Gently flip the granola halfway through. Be careful not to break the clumps or you won't end up with any granola clusters.

  3. Once removed from the oven, allow the granola to fully cool before storing it in an airtight container at room temperature.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do you make granola clusters?

Egg whites are the secret ingredient to obtain perfect granola clusters! The protein in the egg white helps the oats bind together. Also, when the egg white cooks, it makes the granola crunchy.

Does granola need oil?

No! This granola recipe is completely oil free. The almond butter takes the place of the oil as the main fat source in this recipe.

This time I tried the almond butter granola instead of the Protein granola and love it just as much. I use it in my yogurt or just put a container in my car and snack on it while driving. It’s a must ! So easy and fast too. I love having clusters! Love It! Thanks Krista

The egg whites make it crunchy. I don't recommend removing them from the recipe.
