Equipment

  • 1 Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken meat - I recommend a fat percentage around 90%.
  • ¼ cup finely minced yellow onion
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ tablespoon coconut liquid aminos
  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 sprays avocado oil spray - This is just for greasing.

Instructions

  • First, preheat your air fryer. If your air fryer has a preheating option, you can preheat your air fryer. If you don’t have that option, you can run the machine at 365 degrees F for 2-5 minutes. Leave the machine running for about 3 minutes for smaller air fryers. Leave the machine running for about 5 minutes for larger air fryers.
  • Next, add all of the ingredients to a bowl except for the avocado oil spray. Combine the ingredients with your hands or a rubber spatula. Do not overwork the meat. Just mix until combined.
  • Spray the air fryer basket with avocado oil spray. Divide the meat mixture into 4 portions and shape into patties. Place the patties in the preheated and sprayed air fryer basket.
  • Spray the burgers with a little avocado oil spray. Air fry the burgers at 365 degrees F for 8-10 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F.
  • Serve the patties on a bun, in a salad or as is!
