2red apples- I suggest using red apples opposed to green. I used Honey Crisp. Other options are Gala, Fuji, Pink Lady and Jonagold.
½tablespoonmelted coconut oil
1tablespoonpure maple syrup
½teaspoonvanilla extract
½teaspoonground cinnamon
⅛teaspoonground cardamom
⅛teaspoonground nutmeg
⅛teaspoonsalt
Instructions
Preheat your air fryer. If your air fryer has a preheating option you can preheat your air fryer. If you don’t have that option, you can run the machine at 375 degrees F for 2-5 minutes. Leave the machine running for about 3 minutes for smaller air fryers. Leave the machine running for about 5 minutes for larger air fryers.
Cut the two apples into about ½ inchslices. Check out THIS video on how to easily slice an apple.
Add sliced apples to a bowl with coconut oil, pure maple syrup, vanilla, and spices. Combine until the apples are evenly coated.
Place the apples in a single layer in your air fryer basket. I suggest making this recipe in two batches. Air fry the apples at 375 degrees F for 8-12 minutes, tossing halfway. Mine were perfect at 10 minutes.
Serve the apples as you please! I served mine with Greek yogurt, chopped walnuts and a drizzle of honey.
Notes
Use as much or as little of the spices as you would like. You can also use spice blends like apple pie spice or pumpkin pie spice.Refrigeration - Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days.Reheating - Reheat the apples in the air fryer at 325 degrees F until warm.
