  • Mix together all ingredients for the cake batter until combined.
  • Pour the mixture into an 8×8 baking pan lined with parchment paper. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool for about 10 minutes in the baking pan. Then, transfer it to a cooling rack to cool completely before frosting. Allow the cake to cool completely!! I know it's hard, but you don't want the frosting to melt.
  • Grab your stand mixer. Use the paddle attachment on your mixer and combine the yogurt, cream cheese and maple syrup until creamy. There should be no lumps.
  • Evenly spread the frosting over the cake. I added a sprinkle of extra chopped walnuts over the top.
  • Slice into bars and enjoy!


Properly measure flour by spooning the flour into the measuring cup. Then, level off the top of the cup with a knife. Do not place the measuring cup into the bag and scoop. You could end up with more flour than needed.
Do not over-mix the batter or the cake will be tough.
